VMware ESX 3.5 and ESX/ESXi 4.x: Increasing MTU on vSwitch to accept Jumbo frames

Vmware SX 3.5 and ESX/ESXi 4.x increase the vswitch MTU to accept Jumbo frames

Login as root via ssh (needs to be enabled) at vmware esxi shell and type following command:
Code:
esxcfg-vswitch -m 9000 vSwitch4

Above command will increase the MTU to 9000 for vSwitch4. This way, your VMs (given that the vm interface MTU was also increased accordingly) will be able to send and receive Jumbo frames.
