Post subject: Postfix: Hide MUA (x-mailer|user-agent) information from mail header
PostPosted: Mon Jan 26, 2015 6:40 pm
Based on previous post Postfix MTA - How to mask real ip in mail headers, postfix can also remove other headers that reveal the mail user agent information, such sh "X-Mailer" or "User-Agent".

To remove these headers, open postfix "headers_check" configuration file and add below two lines:
Code:
/^X-Mailer:.*/ IGNORE
/^User-Agent:.*/ IGNORE
And reboot postfix.

Post subject: Postfix MTA - How to hide real ip in mail headers.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 19, 2015 7:24 pm
This is a regular problem that companies are facing specially when they want a degree of anonimity that protects their services from being denial of service attacked.Every CDN network out there offers anonimity and protection for web services, this means HTTP and HTTPS, but not for mail services.

Post subject: Bind DNS master to slave fails to synchronize when all configuration is ok
PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2012 6:49 am
If you're configuring a master/slave DNS system and synchronization fails, look in bind logs (linux /var/log/daemon.log) for following messages:
Code:
Nov 14 11:25:53 server named[1073]: zone 176-191.216.51.81.in-addr.arpa/IN/external: refresh: failure trying master 10.1.22.2#53 (source 172.16.0.58#0): clocks are unsynchronized

Make sure both nodes are time synchronized using date and ntpq -pn commands.

PostPosted: Fri Sep 04, 2009 4:53 am
By default, squirrelmail's compose page contains a small textarea to write the body of your email. Here is how to increase it's height or size (number of columns):

First, open the src/compose.php file with your favourite editor and search for textarea:

if ($compose_new_win == '1') {
echo ' <tr >' . "\n" .
' <td bgcolor="' . $color[0] . '" colspan="2" align="center">' . "\n" .
' <textarea name="body" id="body" rows="' . (int)$editor_height .
'" ...

Post subject: Squirrelmail attachments error "Could not move/copy file. File not attached"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 01, 2009 3:32 pm
If you get this errors in Squirrelmail "Could not move/copy file. File not attached" when trying to attach a file, it is not the php.ini upload_tmp_dir setting, but the attachment.

Check this directory and, if doesn't exist, create it with proper permissions (usually apache's user & group)/
Go to squirrelmail configuration (execute config/conf.pl script) and choose option 4 - Generatl Options:
SquirrelMail Configuration : Read: config.php (1.4.0)
---------------------------------------------------------
Main Menu --
1. Organization Preferences
2. ...
